Presumably, R. Kelly’s catalog still generates revenue due to my ongoing support despite the truly unfortunate crimes he was convicted of, raising the question of where that money is going.

It’s a question Arruh himself asks on his new song, a remix of the Chris Brown song “Residuals” recorded over a prison phone. “Tell me who, who’s getting all my checks?” He asks. “Where is my money at? Tell me who, who’s getting paid for my grind. All of that’s supposed to be mine.”

He brings up a good point. Just because he’s been locked up for football numbers for, among other things, using a middle school-age girl the way a dog uses a fire hydrant doesn’t mean that the rights to his music don’t still belong to him.
