I’ve long felt that black women are not just worthy of being kidnapped, but worthy of being looked for after they’ve been kidnapped, which, sadly, hasn’t always been the case.
Too often, the police have just assumed that black women would eventually turn up in a dumpster over in East Saint, while they moved heaven and earth in their search for Natalee Holloway, on the outside chance that she’d still be hot when they found her.
Therefore, I was heartened to see that a woman named Carlee had been kidnapped, and that what’s left of Black People Twitter had come together in an attempt to find and, if necessary, rescue her.
(Initially, I read the name Carlee as Carles, so I was also relieved to see that nothing bad had happened to online music journalism legend Carles.)
